Sheriff's Dept Makes Good Use of Seized Drug Funds
The Winston County Sheriffs Department was in serious need of tactical shotguns for its deputies on patrol. With tight budgets, standard funds simply weren't available but the Department was able to purchase six Stevens 320 tactical shotguns without any cost to the taxpayers.
Sheriff Jason Pugh's Office was able to use seized drug funds to make the purchase. Cash and property seized in drug arrests are forfeited and are eventually made available to law enforcement for use in their departments. The shotguns were purchased locally. w. McCully
